True-to-the-original model based on the "Green Station" in Kerpen-Horrem in North Rhine-Westphalia on the regional express route between Cologne and Aachen. DB Station&Service AG's lighthouse project is the first station to be built holistically with environmental, energy and climate aspects in mind. While the clear structure and restrained color scheme of the slate building allows the trains to make a grand entrance, large-scale glazed facade and roof surfaces ensure transparency and optimum daylight for passengers in the central, column-free hall with waiting area. Photovoltaics for the use of solar energy and the greening of the cantilevered roof surfaces of varying lengths round off this successful ecological model. Seating elements, modern lanterns and train indicators are included in the kit.
