Due to the manufacturing process, plastic kit parts have a minimal gloss and are usually sprayed in one color. With the patina set, weathering and aging traces can be set true to nature and targeted. Industrial facilities or those in the steam locomotive BW are always more heavily soiled than a family home in the countryside or a well-kept townhouse.

The set contains 6 vials (10 g each) with matte color pigments (black, white, rust, moss, sand, verdigris) which are applied directly or mixed in countless color shades with the enclosed special brushes.

Ideal for patinating building models, bridge and steel structures, rolling stock but also ship and military kits.

Know-How

Patination is the term for the artificial "aging" of various materials and surfaces, which thereby visually gain plasticity and make the object appear more alive.

1. unfinished: To perfect a laser cut model or to add rust marks to the ballast bed, the powder pigments to be applied dry are best suited.

2. processing: These are applied very thinly with the help of the two enclosed brushes.

3rd result: Even with minimal use, these achieve a very natural, matte result without attacking or soaking the surfaces to be colored.
