"On de schwäbsche Eisebahne!" The "Echazbahn" runs from Reutlingen to Münsingen and was completed in 1893. It was the first standard-gauge branch line opened in Württemberg and at the same time the last rail project to be given its own name. The station "Honau" stood in a central position: Here, with a gradient of 100 ‰, Germany's steepest standard-gauge rack railroad started up to Lichtenstein. Mainly locomotives of the BR 97.5 were used. After the Second World War, the line again played an important role in freight traffic until its closure in 1953. Since it was located entirely in the French-occupied part of Württemberg, military transports could be made over the line to the Münsingen military training area without having to pass through the American sector. Due to the enormous gradient, a BR 97.5 cogwheel locomotive had to be used at the end of the trains in push mode for freight trains, which at that time were hauled by the BR 50, BR 52, BR 57.10 and rarely also by the BR 93.5. Architecturally, the reception building "Honau" with its two extensions is remarkable: The complete station was built in the Swiss chalet style and served as a prototype for the Württemberg standard station type III or later IIIa. The beautiful cripple hipped roof construction as well as many of the loving details on beams, wood paneling and porches were reserved exclusively for the "Honau" station and were not later implemented in the standardized buildings for cost reasons. After the closure of the line in the mid-1950s, the building fell into disrepair until the Förderverein Bahnhof Honau e. V. took on the station on a voluntary basis in 2003. Since then, a lot has happened and the building is now shining again in its "old glory".

Note: The kit consists of the main building and a separate ramp. The Laser-Cut kit comes with detailed instructions and special Laser-Cut glue.

The main building and the station house were based on this model, but are much easier to build and do not need extra painting, because the colors of the parts are already based on the prototype color scheme. The shades, beam constructions, windows, shutters and many other details have been implemented particularly beautifully.
