Prototype: "Mozart" Eurocity 64 (EC 64) consisting of a class 103.1 electric locomotive painted and lettered for the German Federal Railroad (DB AG) in oriental red. 1 Amz compartment car, 1 WRmz dining car, and 3 ÖBB Bmz compartment cars. All of the cars are in Era V condition.
Model: The locomotive has a bell-shaped armature motor. The locomotive body is constructed of metal-filled plastic. Fine and elaborate paint scheme and lettering. The locomotive is equipped with a bell-shaped armature motor and warm white LED headlights that change over with the direction of travel. Engine room skylights with window inserts and engine room lighting. Both bogies powered. Invisibly mounted changeover switch for functioning overhead line operation. All of the cars are individually lettered with prototypical car numbers and are equipped with close coupler hooks. Length over buffers approx. 690 mm.
Long-distance trains were often given names that matched their route. This also included a very special international express train, the Fern-Express (FD) Mozart. It connected beautiful Vienna with the cosmopolitan city of Paris via Munich and Stuttgart. The Mozart was already in the timetables in the 1970s, and in May 1989 it was upgraded to Eurocity status. It now also had a fully-fledged dining car. The coaches were provided by the Austrian Federal Railways, which sent its long-distance fleet on its journey in a chic gray and red design. Anyone wishing to travel from Vienna to Paris on the Mozart boarded this train, which was operated as EC 64/65 from the 1991 summer timetable, at 9.00 am and reached the Seine just after 10.00 pm. Thanks to the dining car, the train also offered a culinary experience between Munich and Stuttgart with the class 103 locomotives of the Deutsche Bundesbahn. On the Munich ? Augsburg at a speed of 200 km/h. The locomotives painted in oriental red looked particularly good in front of the ÖBB coaches. For several years, there was also a wing train from Graz to Salzburg, where the coaches were transferred to the main train, but in December 2002, the journey between the major cities came to an abrupt end, as the classic coach train had to make way for an ICE in Germany. All that remained was the Mozart journey from Munich to Vienna West, and in 2008 the illustrious name disappeared from the timetables altogether.
