In the 1930s, Waggonfabrik Wismar developed a rail bus of the "Hanover" type - primarily for financially weak small railroads with low volumes. A total of 57 rail buses were built for use on standard-gauge and narrow-gauge railroads with various axle stands. Only the engine at the front in the direction of travel with a power output of 40-50 hp could be used during travel; the other engine was switched off!
