Prototype The L45H diesel-hydraulic bogie locomotive, built in large numbers between 1967 and 1985 by the vehicle and machine manufacturer FAUR in Bucharest (Romania), ran on many Eastern European railroads and was also used on industrial and works railroads. Today, the 450 HP and 10.25 m long narrow gauge locomotives for 750-1000 mm gauge are still in service in Romania (class 87), Poland (Lxd2), Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary (Mk45). In the meantime, some of them also made their way to Germany as popular rail service locomotives to Sächsische Dampfeisenbahn Gesellschaft mbH (SDG - formerly BVO Bahn GmbH), to the ÖGLB's Ybbstalbahn mountain line in Austria, and even to the Mediterranean island of Corsica, where they were partially remotorized.
Model Removal of the locomotive body and cab is done by pulling off the coupler mounts - these are best pushed outwards from the inside with a suitable screwdriver; when reassembling, first place the buffer beam and then carefully push in the coupler mount. If, contrary to expectations, the car frames should also be removed, the light guide plates must be removed first; otherwise, the LEDs for the direction-dependent lighting could be damaged.Due to the use of the prototype locomotives on different gauges (usually 750/760 and 1000 mm), the vehicle, which is designed as an H0e model at the factory, can also be re-gauged to meter gauge or For this, only the bogie covers have to be removed and two spacers with a length of 1.5 mm each have to be inserted between the gearbox and the bogie cover - these spacers are included in the optionally available wheelset bags (Art.No. 5220 000) for the wheel gauge change. Please note that the sand drop tubes must be removed when operating on H0m tracks.
