2022 Bemo is reissuing the DB diesel locomotive V51/251 used on 750 mm narrow gauge railroads in Württemberg. The previously available diesel locomotive models Faur L45H-083 (Fichtelbergbahn) as well as L45H-358 (Lößnitzgrundbahn) in red DR livery will be replaced by the two other locomotives used on Saxon narrow gauge railroads L45H-084 (Weißeritztalbahn) and 199 018 (Zittauer Netz).
In 1891, the first narrow gauge train of the Royal Württemberg State Railways steamed on meter gauge tracks from Nagold to Altensteig. In the following years, the K.W.St.E opened the Bottwartalbahn Marbach-Heilbronn Süd, the Zabergäubahn Lauffen-Leonbronn and the two Upper Swabian railroads Schussenried-Riedlingen and Biberach-Ochsenhausen - all with a gauge of 750 mm. Initially, the K.W.St.E. relied on various steam locomotive designs with Klose engines. From 1898 to 1913, this was followed by the Tssd Mallet locomotives, also supplied by Maschinenfabrik Esslingen. These and a number of sä. VI K that were taken over from Saxony or rebuilt by the DRG dominated the scene for a long time. Even the five V51/V52 diesel locomotives for 750 mm or meter gauge delivered by Gmeinder in 1964 could not prevent the decline of the romantic railroads in Upper Swabia, the Neckar Valley and the Black Forest: In the mid to late 1960s, the five Württemberg DB narrow-gauge railroads came to an end; only freight service on the "Öchsle" remained until 1983. An attractive museum operation was established on what was once the last DB narrow-gauge railroad on the mainland.
