Märklin 43486 IC2 double-decker middle car DApza 687.2, 1st class, AC, H0 Novelty 2022

Prototype: German Railroad (DB AG) IC2 double-deck DApza 687.2 center car, 1st class, for mainline service. Light gray long-distance paint scheme with traffic red trim, in the current IC design. Train route: IC 2045 from Cologne to Dresden main station. Car order number 5. 2020 operating condition.

Model: The car has a minimum radius of 360 mm. The cars have high entrances above the bogies. The car has built-in LED interior lighting on both levels as standard. The locomotive has a standard close coupler head on the locomotive side and a current-conducting, separable close coupler on the car consist side. The train destination signs on the long side are lighted. Interior lighting only works in conjunction with the double-deck cab control car and can be switched on and off digitally via a decoder in the cab control car. A defined car sequence is specified for this purpose. Red transparent marker light inserts at the ends of the cars. Prototypical Görlitz type trucks with attached folding steps. Length over the buffers 28.6 cm.

The class 146.5 electric locomotive to go with these cars can also be found in the Märklin H0 assortment under item number 37449, for forming a prototypical 6-car train unit with the 43486, 43487, 43488, 43489, and 43490 double-deck cars. Driving on curved ramp sections may be possible only after appropriate modification of these ramps.
